These flexible strips have RGB LEDs spaced every 25mm - that's 20 leds in this 50cm strip. Each LED is indiviually controllable via a SPI style interface using the HL1606 controller chip. Data can be clocked in very quickly and amazing effects can be achieved very simply. Note these strips cannot display patterns on their own, they must be connected to a controller like an Arduino or similar. Each LED can be assigned a color made up of a combination of red, green, blue or any of those component colors can be set to fade up or down.
The strips can be cut at any point between the controller chips and are interconnected connected via 6 lines (2 for power, 4 for control). Each end of the strip has six solder pads so multiple strips can be interconnected by soldering together. The strip is very thin and flexible, so it can be integrated or fastened in many ways. Note that it is not desgned to be repeatedly flexed and it would be unwise to apply undue force. For example, it would make a great head band, but a poor belt for your jeans.
The applications are endless; Mood lighting, wave/water effects, garden lighting, festive lighting, clubs, bars, PC cases, displays, cars, crazy headband etc.
They can quite easily be controlled from an Arduino or any microcontroller with 5v logic levels.
We now carry wire for connecting these modules here.
